Chapter 45 - Darkness Never Dies

I stepped in the domain. The domain knew I entered as I was presented with a warm breeze.
The torches lit up once I walked past them.
The footsteps behind me echoed through the tunnel.
The light on the torches gleamed in my eyes, giving a blinding glare.
My heart was thundering, following the beat of my footsteps. My breath was shaky and my body was tense.
But we had to do this, otherwise, both planets would wither away and we would die.
I shook my head. No, no more negative thoughts.

We reached a large, roomy zone in the cave. The torches lit up and surrounded a large stone with a stone coffin on top.
In front of it was Katy, holding a night sky orb in her hand.
I remembered that item. I used it at the very beginning. But… what if history will repeat itself? What if Undead will have to return us to the past again if Captain Jack goes out of control?
I just said no more negative thoughts. We have SnakeHammer with us now and Xeno.
Maybe… Blab could wake up soon and help too.

She stumbled to her feet, hiding the orb behind her back.
“Stay away from me! He is my only hope to kill you all! You guys ruined my life! All I wanted was to take on the world!” She cried.
I took a step forward, causing her to take a step back.
“Don’t you dare touch me or I’ll use this orb to resurrect him.” Katy threatened.
“That’s what we are going to do,” I answered.
    Her eyes widened.
“Are you sure… we can do this?” Agent S questioned.

    “Of course,” I answered briefly.
“Wh-why? Is this a trick?” Katy gasped.
“Our goal now is to let him live so he can continue the life of the planet he is preserving as this one is dying. All we have to do is to defeat him once he is alive, and then he’ll realise what he has to do.” Undead explained.
Katy gazed at all of us, her eyes twitching.
“Who cares about fricken planets! Undead can’t you just teleport your buddies to another planet that is alive and well?” Katy questioned angrily.
“I can’t. Any other planet is out of my reach. The planet Captain Jack has created is the only one I can teleport to.” He answered.
I walked towards her. She covered the orb with her arms.
    “Katy…” SnakeHammer murmured.
Katy finally sighed and nervously gave me the orb.
Once I had the orb in my hand, it felt like all my memories were now revived.
I closed my eyes, remembering every moment I had…

When we were in the clouds against the Gods…
When we were in a village…
When we were against a dragon of time.
    When I had powers…
When we were on a planet and met Xeno…
When we killed- well Kry killed all the Gods…
    When we were in Hell…
    When we were against Shadows…
And when I was against my friends.
Now the only thing left to do is revive Captain Jack and defeat him so he’ll know that he has to revive his planet so we can all live.

I opened my eyes again and turned around and examined everyone one more time.
“You guys… are the best.” I said through my tears.
Xeno let out some tears as Sandy whimpered.
Undead nodded as Twage took some deep breaths, holding back the tears.
I held the orb above the coffin, watching it glow and shimmer.
A blinding light lit up the room. White covered my view.
Once the light settled, Captain Jack stood in front of me, not looking any different.
He still had his typical brown cloak hanging behind him with his messy white shirt with the top buttons undone. His short black beard filled with dirt and soil. He reached for his coffin and placed his old, black pirate hat on his head and smiled. My body shivered.
    “Cheers.” He giggled.

    Then he vanished.
We hurried out of the cave and back to the surface. There he was, floating in the sky.
The breeze picked up and pushed through the air. The branches on the dead trees snapped and skipped across the orange, waving grass. The clouds instantly turned grey and built up a fog in the view.
Demons plopped to the ground and surrounded us. Hundreds of demons stood in our way.
“Remember, end all the demons first, then aim for Captain Jack. Going straight for him would let us get distracted.” Undead commanded.
    “Got it.” I agreed.
I held onto my axe tightly, ready for combat.

I darted to the left, avoiding a swipe from a demon.
    Too slow.
I skipped forward and chopped its head off. Black blood erupted from its neck.
I spun around, about to aim for another demon, until Xeno sliced a demon’s arm off, causing it to shriek and spin its head around.
Mandy hopped onto its face and bit each flesh off. I high fived with Xeno and smiled and continued fighting.
Honestly, some real challenge would live up the scene.
All I was doing was first dodging the first attack then killing them in one blow.
    I was seriously getting bored.

A demon tried to swipe me on the face. Fortunately, I shifted to the left, letting the claws draw through my straight, soft hair. I kicked its back, letting it fall onto its chest.
I stabbed its back. It shrieked and cried onto its body relaxed and fell to the ground.
“This is way too easy! Can we just end this already?” Kry questioned loudly.
“I got you covered,” SnakeHammer answered.
The clouds growled and shrieked. Small flickers of light boomed in the gaps of the clouds.
Then a lightning shot to the ground, letting an echoing scream fly through the air.

Another booming lightning nearly blew up my ears as this thunder shot was closer. Another demon let out a shriek.
More lightning shot to the ground. The ground shivered, almost tumbling me over.
Finally, it stopped. I examined the hundreds of bodies spread out on the ground.
Captain Jack finally floated back to the ground and clapped his hands.
    “Wonderful!” He laughed.
Purple darts shot past me. I heard shrieks behind me.
All my friends got hit. Their energy died out fast and then they laid on the ground still.
“Don’t worry, they aren’t dead… yet.” He giggled.
    I gazed at him again.
“I have been waiting for this moment for too long… finally, my strength can now be free and be used on you.” He discussed.
I remained silent, resisting the slight anger inside of me.
The breeze became calm. All I heard now was my pounding heart. I felt the warm sweat dribble off my face.
I threw my black cloak away, revealing my black shirt and black shorts.
    “Now… let’s dance!”

He revealed an axe just like mine.
Like a tiger, he ran forward, his eyes focused on mine.
He swung his axe towards my face, but I blocked it with mine.
I kicked his stomach. He took some steps back but became focused again.
I charged at him. I leapt over his head and tried to stab his back.
He spins around and punches me in the head. A throbbing pain zapped my head.
He swings his axe against my stomach. More pain jumped around my body. I noticed my shirt ripped with a large cut on it.
His foot pinned me down on the floor as both of our axes collided.
    “Tired lately, Louise?!” He chuckled.
I hissed and whacked the axe out of his hand.
It slid across the ground. I pushed him back with the tip of the axe and quickly got up.
Before I could do my next attack, his axe flew straight at his hand as he caught it.
    “Cheers, love.” He giggled.
    Katy waved and grinned.
I shook my head and tried to chop his legs.
He jumped over the swing and swung his axe at me.
Both of our axes collided again. This time, we both got pushed back.
I regained balance on my feet and tried to find his weakness.
    “Louise!”
I looked at where that call came from. Xeno threw her axe at me.
I caught it and suddenly regained my confidence.
“Oh, now this is getting more fun.” Captain Jack laughed.

I slid under his swift chop and quickly jumped on my feet.
I stabbed both axes on his hip. He shrieked and spun around.
He touched the wound with his fingers and gazed at the blood.
“Is that all you’ve got?” He chuckled.
I growled and tried to stab him again. He grabbed my arm. Oh crap.
He threw my body against a tree. Pain pounded on my chest.
I flopped to the ground. All my energy was gone.
I breathed heavily, trying to regain my strength.
I slowly got up, but I was presented to another punch.
The back of my head hit the tree behind me again. He punched me again.
Blood erupted from my nose and mouth.
He held my neck against the tree. My throat was blocked as my body was desperate for a single breath.
I used my last grasp of strength on my left arm with my old axe in it.
I chopped his shoulder. He let go of me.

I fell to the ground, gasping and sweating as I gazed at Captain Jack, slowly breathing on the ground.
“Your strength… has improved… so much.” He whispered.
I pressed my hand on my stomach. I could smell the blood stench on my fingers.
    I heard something click.
I looked at Kry, with his pistol pointed at Captain Jack.
    “Kry wait…” I murmured.
But my voice wasn’t loud enough.
    “Goodbye.” Kry said.
    Captain Jack closed his eyes.
    “Wait-“
Captain Jack grabbed the pistol and shivered with the handle then had it strongly in his fingers.
He aimed it at Kry’s head.
    “Captain Jack.”

The voice echoed through the air. The wind went silent.
Captain Jack stood up, looking for the location of the call.
    “What?” He gasped.
“You remember this sweet voice… right?”
    His eyes widened.
I looked around and noticed a figure standing on a hill.
It took steps forward, each step small and graceful.
The figure’s skirt flew in the silent wind. The clouds above began to vanish.
It then stood in front of Captain Jack.
I could see the face clearly now.
    “Blab,” I whispered.

Captain Jack fell to his knees.
    “I thought… I lost you…” He gasped.
    She shook her head.
“I’m okay now… now, please… end the hatred in your heart… let the darkness escape your mind.” Blab said.

A large bang almost gave me a heart attack.
Everyone went silent. The atmosphere took a turn.
    Her eyes closed.
“She… she has done it again.” She murmured.

She flopped to the ground. Blood escaped from her shoulder.
“N-NO! I HAVE SPENT ALL THIS TIME TRYING TO REVIVE YOU AND THEN YOU DIE?! WHO DID THIS!?” Captain Jack screamed.
    “I thought you loved me.”

Katy stood there with a pistol in her hand.
“I thought I was that one daughter you loved. I did so much to follow your footsteps, and this is how you repay me.” She hissed.
He remained silent and held Blab.
She walked towards me. I heard the hate in her feet and breath.
“Your existence has ruined everything,” Katy growled.
She quickly aimed the gun at me.
Everything felt like it was in slow motion at that very moment.
Kry was running towards me, my friends were slowly getting up and the bullet was about to be shot.
Then in a single second, a loud bang was heard.
It echoed through the area. I thought my body was about to shut down…
Until I felt the weight of Katy flop onto me.

I pushed her off and quickly looked around and noticed the gun in Captain Jack’s hand.
“Ever since she killed Blab back in the second world, I turned my hate to her.” He hissed.
Xeno rushed over to Blab and wrapped bandages around her shoulder.
“It’s okay, she’ll be fine,” Xeno said.
She was about to take Blab until Captain Jack resisted.
“If you keep holding onto her she’ll die… you can trust us now, Katy is no longer here to control you.” Twage said.
He finally let her go as Xeno held her.

    “It’s… it’s all over.” I murmured.
The ground shook. Lava sprouted from the ground as cracks spread across the planet.
The wind growled as the clouds bunched together.
Undead spawned a portal, ready to go onto Captain Jack’s planet.
    “Ready?” He asked.
I nodded and we all hopped in.

After an hour, we settled on the planet nicely. There were plenty of exotic plants here and lush, green colours surrounding us.
That night, I gazed at the stars. The stars glowed and gleamy gracefully. Finally… peace.
Blab sat next to me and also gazed at the stars.
“You haven’t really changed. Also, your new friend Xeno is really cool.” She discussed.
    “Yeah,” I responded.
Hearing her voice again was so out of place. I couldn’t think of any words.
“You know when I was… gone, I may have whispered some words to you randomly. Did you hear them?” She asked.
“Pretty sure I did,” I answered.
“I knew you would.” She said gladly.
I let out a chuckle and looked at the stars again.
“I just can’t believe your back after all this time.” I discussed.
I looked at her. She still gazed at the stars.
“I knew I’d come back. I just knew that the small amount of light in Captain Jacks heart would tell him to revive me, and so he did.” Blab explained.
So there was light in his heart after all… I knew it.
“Thank you… for everything.” I murmured.
She smiled and let out a chuckle.
    SnakeHammer then walked towards me.

    “Hey.” He waved.
“So… you are finally free. Now you can no longer take orders from anyone.” I said.
    He nodded.
“Thanks for always helping me, even when you were surrounded by people who said you couldn’t help me.” I sighed.
“I always wanted to join you, you know? Being with Captain Jack and Katy had put so much pressure on me. I used to be normal until Captain Jack turned me into a God and made me go crazy, but over time when I realised who you were, I wanted to be like you.” He explained.
“Well, now that pressure is gone.”
He looked at Blab when she said that. He then laughed.
“Yeah, I guess it is!” He laughed.
He then gazed at Captain Jack, leaning against a tree.
“Let’s go and cheer him up, shall we?” Blab suggested.
SnakeHammer nodded and they both went over to Captain Jack.
I heard a bunch of footsteps come towards me.
All my friends stood around me.

    Kry,

    Agent S,

    Twage,

    Undead,

    Sandy,

    And Xeno.

Finally, we all hugged as Sandy hopped into my arms. My mind exploded with happiness and relief.
The warmth of each other spread. I could hear Twage sniffing, probably about to cry.
We let go and I gazed at them all again.
“I can’t believe we made it… all of us.” Agent S said.
    “Yeah,” I said.
“We have all come a long way, and I’m proud of every one of you,” Undead said.
    “Aww cheers mate!” Xeno giggled.
“You guys… are the best.” I whispered.
They all looked at me and smiled.
I then let out the words that were with me all the way back in the beginning.

“Without darkness, we would be blinded with light. Without light, we would drown in pitch black. Balance is needed in this world. Light never dies and…
    Darkness never dies.”

    End.

    These stories were really awesome!
The only reason I still come to this site is to read these stories, since I've stop playing mc and have no other reason to be on this site.
But you seriously should become an author and publish your work.
If you stick with this I feel like the only way you can go is up.

I'd like to thank you for including me in your stories throughout the years. I was in so many off them that you just added me to the rest without me asking
But they were all great! You definitely see how much you've improved since the 1st one.

Damn, this is probably my last post here (that's why it's long). Almost 3 years. Well, I haven't been active for like the last year but whatever. I'll probably come back just to see the rest of the replies to this story, but I guess this is good bye. It's been real.
Funny thing, I think we've only ever seen each other on the actual server like once Louise.

Good luck and God bless to all you guys on your future endeavors!

(If this gets deleted since I'm saying good bye, then booooooo you person who deleted it boooooooo.)

You two are amazing. You both have supported me for so long, and look how much I've improved. :)
    Thank you. <3

I won't be posting any more stories here, but I will continue typing stories on WattPad, a website where you can read and post stories.
The link to my profile is here: https://www.wattpad.com/user/LouiseBoo

By the way, since ya'll have been seriously amazing, I decided to show a little preview of an upcoming story I'll be posting on WattPad. Apologises if there are some mistakes in it. Hope you like it c:

    Decaying Kingdom:

Promise gazed at the mossy, old castle walls. The grey brick gleaming with power as the monsters continuously failed to decay its force. Their bodies were fragile as their skin seemed thinner than paper and their texture had no meaning as their black fur failed to shine from the daylight.

She smiled brightly until the withering thought of Prince Nave, Prince of the kingdom of Fuhai, far from this land returned to her mind. He hasn’t responded in weeks and months. Her smile turned into a frown. She sat back down and gazed at the paper, how the sunlight no longer touched it. She tapped the feather back in the ink, watching the meaningless colour of black fall back into the jar as she held the feather above it.

Each strand of hair on the feathers stem seemed frail and grey, no longer having its pride look of blinding white. She stared at the black ink splat onto the paper shamelessly. She sighed and began to sway the tip of the feather into symbols and dots. She pressed the feather one more time on the paper and returned it to the jar. Promise looked at the paper, how messy her cursive was.

She held it up and watched how the ink no longer resisted and let up some drips down the paper. She read the words, wondering if each word had purpose:

‘Dear blessed Prince Nave. I still await for your call, but my heart is slowly going heavy with the thought of you having negative thoughts about me, constantly trying to talk to you, yet you refuse to answer. I plead that you send me a letter back soon as I am slowly growing weak along with the kingdom of Caroldel. I hope you also tell your father that his small amounts of products aren’t making our fear wither away, but instead feeding it. I await for your response and love. Sincerely; Princess Promise of Caroldel.’

So that is only a small preview. Hopefully all of you can read this story too once I release the first few chapters.
As you can see, the detail and description is now critical in this book.

Once again, thank you all so much for the massive amount of support. Love you all <3 (In a friendly way, not a kissy woohoo way...)

Haha sorry about that, I had to cut out some bits as I felt it was too long plus I was pretty busy. Each character was going to have a fight scene but I wasn't able to :(
But you did have major roles in some of the latest chapters before! Thanks for the support by the way!

Ey guys. So I have published the first five chapters of my new story on Wattpad. Here's the link to my story:
    https://www.wattpad.com/story/103166538-decaying-kingdom

The thing is, my anxiety is really starting to effect me as I'm no longer confidence in what I do and I'm starting to be become shy even tho I used to be so... out there.
So some support would really, really help. Just a quick read through the first chapter would mean a lot to me and boost up my confidence back.

Once again, thank you all for the fantastic support! I love you all so much <3
