What is music to you?

Seriously, this thread is simple. A ton of us on here listen to music for various reasons, some that others may not know of. Feel free to state what exactly..music is to you. I just mean what music is..like an escape of this reality or whatnot. I'll comment mine.

Personally, music is an inspiration. I like to listen to Imagine Dragons/ Maroon 5 occasionally, TOP occasionally, and WWE theme songs. Whenever I listen to songs in this genre, I usually get hyped/pumped. I do this before a special event like baseball/etc.

Well, that was mine. Feel free to comment what music is to you. It'll be interesting to see what/if y'all say.
Also remember, you do not have to reply. I am completely fine either way.

Music lets me escape to a different world. I like to imagine things that arent real and music powers that. I listen to anime music, nightcore and K Pop. It makes me happy and its another reason why im insane.

 

Music to me is a way to express yourself and your feelings. It's also a way to be inspired. A lot of the times even at my toughest moments I can always listen to a song and sing along to it and the thought or feeling of sadness or stress goes away. It's a way to escape reality and focus on something else. Without music today I feel like the world would've been more hateful. It's really cool how music has come a long way. People with color who were slaves would sing songs that would give them hope. Sure, some music today is trash but some still mean something. Thank you for posting this thread. Music means a lot to me. :)

Music is like a story in rhythm. They can be powerful, or inspirational. Unfortunately today every song they play on the radio is the exact same thing, and they choose not to play songs that actually have meaning, such as Imagine Dragons and Twenty One Pilots

 

True, but there are still songs that mean something. Not "every" song they play on the radio is the exact same thing.

 

Usually most of the songs that aren't meaningful are popular. Songs that are meaningful don't get recognized as much as those do.

 

Music (at least what I listen to) lets me escape out of reality. Music can cheer me up, bring me down, or make me feel super pumped.

I can't really describe it that well because there are so many things that music make me feel. Music is just truly a blessing for me.

 

Music is my Life I cannot live a day without it.

 

Entertainment when I am bored.
Other times, it helps me vent when I am angry or sad.

 

Music has helped me trough a lot of stuff.
It makes me emotional and really gives you a deep feeling.
It really means a lot to me. I listen to music all the time.

 

Music to be is something I listen to everyday and it helps me a lot in different ways.
It helps me concentrate on work. Sometimes I enjoy listening to music just for the fun of it.
Music is full of creativity. There’s so many different genres, beats, rhythms, lyrics and meanings of songs. There’s a lot of different kind of music to discover and experience.
There’s also some songs or lyrics that I can relate to depending on some occasions.
Some songs gives me the feels lol
Music also helps connect with other people who also have the same music interests.
Music helps me escape from the real world.
My life depends on music. It’s something I’m very passionate about.

 

Music is just another language to me. It provides a way to express emotions in a more entertaining and attracting way. Who doesn't want to listen to music whenever they're going through a rough time or need just need to chill? The best part is, playing it is even more fun, so there's no reason why somebody should hate music. It's a part of our lives, and me being apparently told by others very talented at both the instruments that I play, it just enhances the experience for me. Everyone should play an instrument: it's been proven to support academics and it's great for time-wasting/showing off.

 

Music is a personal escape of mine that got me out of a minor depression once. I still use it for various reasons though.

 

Music is a whole other world. A world where people can express themselves with their own feelings and emotions. That world is very important to me. I listen to abut 30 songs a day... (Mostly EDM)

 

everything. i reflect my feelings onto it and literally there's always a song out there that is exactly how i feel. i just love it a lottttttttttttttttt like a whole lot lol
it really helps me keep myself in check instead of running around telling people my problems

 

Music to me is history, and it affects tradition. I listen mainly to Liszt, Beethoven, Mozart, Haydn, and Chopin. My fav composers : )
