It should be able to run Minecraft with 60 fps, perhaps even more with OptiFine. I'm not sure about mods, depends what kind of mods you are talking about. Lightweight mods shouldn't be a problem, but heavier mods could easily cut down the fps to below 60. If you really want to make sure you can run Minecraft smoothly, consider buying a pc instead as they tend to have better performances in gaming.

The only mods I might use are optifine, Bpsk core, player API, 5zig, toggle sneak, and damage indicators and all of them are pretty lightweight except for probably the 5zig

i don't play this game anymore yet i'm still here why do you ask, i don't know either
For the love of god, no don't get a gaming laptop.
You could build a decent gaming PC for less than the price of that gaming laptop, and the gaming PC is 100x stronger than the gaming laptop if you pick the right GPU and/or CPU
If your parents don't want you to build a PC, get an Asus ROG (Republic of Gamers) gaming laptop, they're pretty strong and can handle most games

Agreed. A gaming laptop drains your wallet and isn't so versatile. The main pros of a gaming laptop like compact size and less electricity charges aren't what you can get with a gaming PC, but a bulkier computer with changeable parts gives you more personalization imo

If you're gonna get into PC building, I did this part list which is pretty cheap and will (most likely) run ALL new titles at 60+ fps high.
    It's even vr ready.

If you wish to edit anything in this part list, please hmu

Yes, the GPU/video card is always the most expensive part of a gaming pc.

It's basically what renders your game/video/whatever you're doing and sends it to the monitor for it to display.

And also this is a VERY GOOD gpu, so it will be sorta expensive. But, I would reccomend getting it as if you go with red team, you will have bad opengl support, which is what minecraft runs on.

    No.
This is the last generation of GPUs. New GPUs have a way better performance per dollar ratio. The new GPUs that are currently out are the GTX 1060, the 1070, the 1080 and the Radeon RX 480.
Also, if you're going to play mineraft, don't get an AMD GPU (Radeon GPUs). They have horrible OpenGL support, which is what Minecraft runs on. For minecraft, go with the green team.

Or perhaps be patient and wait for cheaper gpus to come out

Don't get a macbook pro. Just dont.
They're not good for gaming. They have a horrible value.
You can get like 20x the gaming performance with a custom built pc the same price as a mac.

Why get a gaming laptop? Just buy a phone and play Pokemon Go. It's what I do :)
