Heavy metal (Screamo) is the worst music genre

I always thought that I liked music... I was almost brutally wrong.

I'm almost sure someone crazy here is gonna jump out of no where only to write "fuck you" for the only reason of the title, and if you actually like Screamo, I guess it's the right thing to do. It certainly isn't rational, and makes you look like a foolish fool but if you can't take any sort of criticism towards a music genre then... please leave. Thank you.

I never was interested in music that much anyways... the only music band I use to listen to are the "Five Stars" and the only music band I decided to give a chance were the twenty one pilots... and I'm kind of neutral to them. They aren't bad, certainly not as bad as things I've heard before and I've heard "Friday" and fucking "Baby"

I have a weird opinion when it comes to music. My favorite genre of music is Jazz and Classic. And pop sometimes. Those above are actually listenable in my opinion. Unlike Screamo, you can actually understand the lyrics and the rhythm. The Screamo is just a large pile of extremely loud sounds that it makes your ears bleed after a very short while. And I'm not even really exaggerating...

When I was doing my short research, I decided to give Screamo a chance... I don't know if I was just so lucky to find the most extreme of them, but right as the song started, there was a woman screaming for absolutely no fucking reason, my sound was quite quiet, but despite that, I still found what I just heard very loud. I didn't even manage to watch the video till the end, my ears just hurt a little too much for me to be able to continue. The lyrics (if there even were any) were absolutely impossible to understand. I don't know if I just stopped before the lyrics began to be understandable... but if I couldn't make it till there, it's the creator's problem.

You may find this genre art, I honestly don't care. It's cool that you can find something in this genre that I'm unable to. Please don't take it as a way to say that you shouldn't listen to this, it's my opinion and you sometimes have to get used to the fact that they're sometimes different than yours. You could find that art, but I find it the worst music genre to have existed.



So this is what I think of the Screamo genre, what do you think? Do you agree with me that Heavy Metal is just a way to kill your ears or will you write "fuck you" down below? I think it's those screamo bands that ruin the genre, if you dig enough, you can find great music, this goes for any genre. Take Black Sabbath or Metallica for instance, they are considered heavy metal bands, and they produce good music, but the screamo bands like Slipknot and etc. taint the images of the good bands. Anyways, if you want an example for a good heavy metal song, listen to "Godzilla" or "(Don't Fear) The Reaper" by Blue Öyster Cult.

Just a question, what makes you think rock is a bad genre? That genre revolutionized modern music, with Jimi Hendrix's guitar solos and riffs, and Eddie Van Halen's Eruption literally inspired 85% of teens to grab a guitar and start learning it.

 

Metal gives me a headache, I just don't like all the screaming and stuff.
It's not my thing.

 

Love the guitar harmonies/melodies, hate the voices.

tl;dr I have a love/hate relationship with metal.

 

Not all heavy metal bands consist of screaming and ear bleeding sounds, give Metallica or Motorhead a chance. They're amazing. Don't just stereotype the whole genre because of a couple of songs you heard.

I listen to metal all the time. You're listening to the wrongs bangs/songs man. Those screamo bands are terrible compared to some of the classic metal bands. Not all heavy metal is screamo. It's not for everybody, but at least listen to the right bands before you give your final opinion.

 

Guys, I got that I was wrong. Shouldn't have stereotyped in the first place. I changed the title and the the text will be edited as well replacing Heavy Metal with Screamo. I have just listened to Metallica and didn't find it as terrible as that. Once again, sorry for this stupid stereotype. It's the Screamo that I really hate.

Anyways, I like rhythms to music. For example, I like "Cake by the Ocean" due to the beat and everything. I couldn't care less about the lyrics. I usually have my music down to the lowest volumes, anyways. Piano is my favourite dynamic level allowing me to focus but still enjoy the music.

Thus, screamo is like Hell to me.

 

I personally like a few screamo bands, and metal is very good.
But once you get into this sense of screamo, you understand how shitty some screamo bands are:

It's alright, people make mistakes. Anyways, I only know one good "screamo" song, it's Crazy Train by Ozzy Osbourne.

 

You know they have Christian Screamo? It's basically some guys screaming the gospel with some drums behind it. It scared me as a small child.

 

I'm okay with them screaming "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH" as long as my ears don't bleed, but most of the things they say in a heavy metal song is nonsense, nonsense I tell you.

I'll be honest here, and I know that people will probably hate me even more for saying this but...

I hate heavy metal, metal, and the 80s so so much.

Sure I can definitely love rock music. I dig the blues, country, psychedelia, folk, and even pop sounds. There are some classic rock bands and artists I can't stand though. I guess you can say I'm close-minded to the point where I only listen to the 60s sound.

But if there's anything I can't stand, it would have to be heavy metal and the 80s.
For some reason whatsoever, I hate the 80s. Sure both of my brothers were born in it, but I just hate it.
Heavy metal is boring and I just can't make anything out of it. Screams and growls are just so awful and horrid. (Now screams in rock n' roll is a different story, and I dig that type of scream.) I enjoy guitar riffs, but for some reason the ones in metal really make my head hurt. It's just painful.
And I see some of y'all say, "You're saying that because you really haven't listened to it!" Let me tell you a lil something. I grew up listening to it. My brothers were (one of them still are) really into Metallica, Black Sabbath, Mago De Oz, System of a Down, and other stuff like that. So yeah, I really dislike it.

im getting tired of seeing these "opinion threads". im sorry, but this is useless. it's your opinion over a music genre. is it necessary to post about this? especially when people on the forums enjoy that kind of music. i get that it's your opinion, but i honestly dont think anyone really cares. you've made 14 threads about your opinion, it's getting a little obnoxious.
