So... Hello everyone. Ahah, it's been awhile since I've made a thread (With the exception of my most recent story). And speaking of stories, I was suggested an idea, of which I've found interesting. Now you may be asking, "But Shadow, what is this interesting idea of which you speak?"

    The idea was this:

Anybody, of all skill levels and of all imaginations levels (Preferably ones who don't fool around 100% of the time and are willing to help contribute to things and whatnot), would come together and create a nice story for people to enjoy. As summer is coming up, I will have the time at many times (Other than the next two weeks) to do this. And I am sure that a lot of you have summer coming up, if you don't have it already.

Now, you might say, "But Shadow. All of your stories include darker environments. And I don't like the way you write. Also, you use way too many words that end up repeating themselves. And-"

Yeah, let me stop you right there. That's my prefered way to write stories. Whether or not it may seem like it, I'm a very flexible person. (In terms of writing style. If you tried bending me, my bones would snap.)

I want this to be a project where people of all types can come together and make a story of which all can enjoy. It can be of any theme:
    • Joyful
    • Creepy
    • Sorrowful
    • Simulating (Sort of like a suggestion I had a while ago for my story, but never really took to play since I didn't really feel it necessary. Like "If forumers came to one spot in reality and met one another.")
    • Suspenseful
    • Dark and Gloomy
    • Action/Lore
And many more. I really don't mind if this is just me and one other person, or if this extends to me and five other people, or so on. Hell, drawings would be appreciated for the artists who prefer drawing over writing.

Well, if you want to join me in this, then just apply below.

Are you willing to use In-Forum PM?:
What theme would you prefer (Does not have to be listed above):
    Are you willing to co-operate?:
Are you willing to stay on-task? (Of course some fooling around can be at hand, so long as it is not way too off-hand):
On a scale of 1-10, how good are your writing skills? (Proof would be great, preferably in spoilers):
On a scale of 1-10, how flexible are you in terms of writing with others?:
On a scale of 1-10, how far does your imagination reach out? (Meaning is it yours only, or can you accept ideas from others, etc.):
Specific creations you've made and shared with the forums:
Anything else you'd like to add?:

Specific creations you've made and shared with the forums: World of the Damned (Most popular, but died out), Infinite Insane Asylum, and many more.
Anything else you'd like to add?: Not that I can think of.

*EDIT* If necessary, and this gets more people than I originally thought it would, I'll get an alternate skype account with fake information so we can talk there. (Since conversations only allow six people last time I checked.)

I'm not at all great at narrative writing, but I'm interested to see the outcome of this, it sounds cool

That's nice. For now, we'll stick to in-forum PM, but if it exceeds six people, including you and I, then I'll proceed with skype. As for writing descriptively, don't fret on that. That's what the others are for. To help fill in the weak spots of the other authors. I love being descriptive. Very descriptive. I'll start a conversation, and I'll await a few more people. If no one else seems interested, we'll just start on our own.

I must say, this is indeed interesting.

Are you willing to use In-Forum PM?:
Yes, but I prefer other forms of communication.
What theme would you prefer (Does not have to be listed above): Romance & sorrowfulness
Are you willing to co-operate?: Of course, as long as there are no disturbances.
Are you willing to stay on-task? (Of course some fooling around can be at hand, so long as it is not way too off-hand): I rarely fool around.
On a scale of 1-10, how good are your writing skills? (Proof would be great, preferably in spoilers): I'll be honest. On a scale of 1-10, I'll say a 7. Proof? I'm not sure how I can prove to you my writings skills o_O Do you want to read all my essays, papers, quotes, etc? At best, the only proof I could offer to you at your convenience are my posts on this forum.
On a scale of 1-10, how flexible are you in terms of writing with others?: As long as there are no disturbances, 10
On a scale of 1-10, how far does your imagination reach out? (Meaning is it yours only, or can you accept ideas from others, etc.): It goes only as far as one is capable of. I'll glad accept others' ideas.
Specific creations you've made and shared with the forums: Nope
Anything else you'd like to add?: Any questions?

When you say other forms of communications, I assume you mean skype. I have one question. What do you mean by 'disturbances'? Also, as proof, I meant like an excerpt to a story you've written on your own or such. But, it's not required.

Are you willing to use In-Forum PM?: Yes.
What theme would you prefer (Does not have to be listed above): I'd prefer a humorous story but I'll do anything.
Are you willing to co-operate?: Yes, I'm very cooperative.
Are you willing to stay on-task? Although I like making jokes I agree to stay on task.
On a scale of 1-10, how good are your writing skills? I don't really have the time to write anything currently but I'd say 7, I'm very creative but creativity isn't always the best thing.
On a scale of 1-10, how flexible are you in terms of writing with others?: 7.
On a scale of 1-10, how far does your imagination reach out? 9.
Specific creations you've made and shared with the forums: No, I haven't shown any creations yet, I don't like to be judged very much.
Anything else you'd like to add?: Yes, I can see the lack of effort. I'd just be a helper, I'll proofread if needed. I'm very creative so ask me if you need any ideas.

What do you mean by, "I can see the lack of effort." ? That's all I ask. Creativity is good, and as long as you're a proofreader, that'd be good even if you don't contribute to the story as much as me, or any others who are interested have. Proofreads are always a useful tool, especially when done by others.

Well, effort is not exactly what I was looking for. As you can see in the example I made, it had nearly nothing on it. I just want a general idea of the kind of writer you are from this, and whether or not it would be a good idea to have someone like the applicant to help us. And it's alright. Welcome.

Are you willing to use In-Forum PM?: Yes. I prefer that.
What theme would you prefer (Does not have to be listed above): Dark, suspenseful, joyful, humor, morality issues, scifi/fantasy
Are you willing to co-operate?: Of course.
Are you willing to stay on-task? (Of course some fooling around can be at hand, so long as it is not way too off-hand): Yes. I'll do ny best to stay online everyday, too. I'm also a good proofreader/beta.
On a scale of 1-10, how good are your writing skills? (Proof would be great, preferably in spoilers): 8. This is an excerpt from the third installment of Meatball Moments that I currently have little motivation to do.
The young inventor lifted up his welding mask and marveled at the new piece of tech resting on his crafting table. It was a gun of revolutionary design - its shape was sleek and long. The color was silver with vermillion highlights. The recoil and weight needed a bit of further work, but it was good enough. Olivine, or as he was known at the time, smiled for the first time after weeks of trials and problems. His cluttered workspace was quickly forgotten as he took the new device in both hands. He had called it the Singularity Gun. Its purpose wa to solve the pollution problem by trapping waste in a forcefield and eradicating it from existence. So many things the idea would potentially do!

But an idea needed research and work. That day, Olivine perfected it. It was finally ready. The Kingdom was so kind as to fund his project. Olivine immediately picked up his bag and left for His Majesty. Oh, he would be very glad and interested.
On a scale of 1-10, how flexible are you in terms of writing with others?: 9. It heavily relies on
their attitude, however. But seeing as this is JH, I don't see any problem.
On a scale of 1-10, how far does your imagination reach out? (Meaning is it yours only, or can you accept ideas from others, etc.): 9. I can take ideas from others and make them better.
Specific creations you've made and shared with the forums: I've made three stories. Two of them are in the old forums (Untitled and Meatball Moments) and one is in here (MM: Corruption). While they're fairly crackish, I can conjure something more serious.
Anything else you'd like to add?: none

One question. When you mean "Relies on their attitude," can you tell me what you mean? I think that I get where you're coming from, but in case what I'm about to say is wrong, tell me otherwise.
-Serious, on-task, and polite/mature people you work with = good flexibility.
    Vice versa.

Alright. Fair enough. But that shouldn't be something to fret about, as most people can already tell that I prefer a mature and sophisticated group of people if I am to work with them. Welcome. I'll add you to the conversation.

By other forms of communication, I meant, well that depends on a few variables such as where & how is this story being drafted. Although I prefer Razer Comms, Skype will do.

By disturbances, I meant people who lack drive, people who lack seriousness, people who lack the ability to corporate, etc will - no doubt - interfere will my performance and quality of work. Most importantly, I do not want to waste my time on others' foolishness when I can do other things that are worth my time.

Romance and sorrowfulness? Didn't know you were the type of guy to be into romance, but we learn things everyday. It is a shame some people choose to not accept what they learn. If I may ask, when did you become more capable of working with others? Thought you were more of a solo kind of person.

Things exist because of circumstances. It's not necessarily appropriate to say that I am into romance but rather, I am interested in the concept or the notion of romance. True, it's evident that I am a solo kind of person but again, that does not mean I am incapable of working with others. Did you forget I created KoB? To assume is to limit the mind.

You've failed me. Much disappointed. Not everything you see is true, mister grasshopper.

Ah. I see. Well, don't worry. When I decide to do something, it normally has motivation in it. And, as I stated before:
The point of the conversation is to work out how this will work, as we don't know how many people are doing this. Welcome. I'll add you to the conversation.

I never said you weren't capable of working with others. I didn't forget how you created KoB and probably won't forget. I said when did you become capable of working with others. It was a question. I never said you weren't, I think you forgot to read every detail. Also, no assuming is not limiting the mind, let me put it this way, would you rather be idiotic for most of your life then be smart all of a sudden. Assuming allows you to access the knowledge that you currently know of something. You can either learn from it, or gain from it. I would rather assume something with my current knowledge then to waste my time on spending time on something that relevantly important to be completely accurate, I see what you mean though. If there was a life death situation, I think I wouldn't want to assume something, but rather think of possible scenarios of the situation, then possibly answers or solutions, then make a hypothesis and work it out. Also, I think you assumed that you thought I thought that I assumed that you were not capable of working with others, but in my theory I think you forgot that what I said was a question not a statement. Therefore, you could be considered a hypocrite if I'm right, but I could be wrong. After all, I only made a hypothesis on what I knew of this current situation, and assumed that I could possibly right or wrong. Also, before you say I just went against my own words, I never said my words were correct or wrong, they are just an opinion on something or you can say an explanation to a question. So if I may ask. Did I really disappoint you?

Are you willing to use In-Forum PM?: Sure, but Skype is alright, too.

What theme would you prefer (Does not have to be listed above):
I like fantasy (as I like writing realistic stories less than impossible stories) and joyful the most, but if needed I think I can write each kind of story. I like it too if the characters are a bit... idiotic. :D

    Are you willing to co-operate?:
    Yes.

Are you willing to stay on-task? (Of course some fooling around can be at hand, so long as it is not way too off-hand):
    Yes.

On a scale of 1-10, how good are your writing skills? (Proof would be great, preferably in spoilers):
I don't really know how to judge myself...
You can judge this story, but keep in mind that I can write in a lot of different ways. Nonsense isn't the only thing I can write.
This is a story I needed to write in English for the subject English :D. This way, I won't have to translate it any more.
We needed to write about our biggest regret, but it didn't have to be the truth. As you can read, I didn't want to make a serious story there.

My biggest regret is not shooting a monkey once in the jungle. I was there on an expedition, to search for Mayan temples because some idiot said that there were some there.. It was a very hot day, so we decided to put all our money in one big bag (otherwise the money might have caught fire). Then, a bunch of monkeys jumped out of the trees around us. While a lot of them were standing in front of us and held some sort of show, we didn’t look around us and one other monkey stole the bag with our money. When I looked around for a toilet I saw that the bag with our money was gone! The monkey who stole it was just climbing with it up a tree. We tried to follow it, but it was too fast. Then we accidentally found one of the Mayan temples. We searched for things that were special there but we only found some stones with strange looking drawings on them, almost like a calendar. Easy to understand that we were disappointed. We didn’t take anything because everything was rubbish, and I think that temple was too old to live in. Then, when I was walking to the top of it, I saw the monkey with our bag in one of the trees! I thought he might drop the bag, so I didn’t want to shoot it with my (water) gun. I wish I did, because then the monkey jumped away.
I've made much weirder stories than this one, but some logical stories that make sense, too.

On a scale of 1-10, how flexible are you in terms of writing with others?:
As there are always some problems and I don't know how you'll be writing this (everyone a chapter/everyone a sentence and then someone else/multiple stories which are combined), a 6.

On a scale of 1-10, how far does your imagination reach out? (Meaning is it yours only, or can you accept ideas from others, etc.):
    9. I can come up with a lot of strange ideas (like in the spoiler, or something stranger), or just something very logical.

Specific creations you've made and shared with the forums:
    None

Anything else you'd like to add?:
I'm not English, and I don't think my English is really bad, but I can't write in English like in my native language.
EDIT: I'm not really good with dark and creepy etc. stories.
