Okay. I think it is time to make a thread to merge all the "Warning: SCAM!" threads.
A while ago someone in survival posted a link to a free minecon cape. Yes, I fell for it, so I sent the link to the lobby (@Hellotoyou also fell for the link, but he didn't post it anywhere) and got tempbanned for this. Then I found out that the site was a phishing site (@athenswill told me) and so I changed my password. Then this free optifine capes website came out. Before the forums get loaded with warnings, I'll make a post once and for all.
If someone sends a link to a free minecraft item that costs money, no matter what, do not trust it. They connect with Heartbleed (I think) and steal your minecraft information. 200+ accounts have been lost in the optifine cape giveaway. This thread was just to prevent anyone from clicking any of those links and to prevent the forums getting loaded with "Scam! Don't trust this!" threads. Sorry if this causes any inconvenience.

He meant HE got temp banned for it, not you. He just mentioned you fell for it, but you didn't post it anywhere, unlike macario.

Alright, I'm going to be THAT GUY and correct you.
Heartbleed doesn't have the ability to steal your information this way.
It's most likely a phishing scam.

All the Heartbleed shit is pretty much over to an average user on the internet anyway. OpenSSL is updated and all the popular websites that use it have the updated version, like Mojang ^~^

Also, all the phishing websites are dumb as fuck. They all arise around the time of the Heartbleed bug is found. If someone knows about the Heartbleed bug, they sure as hell aren't going to enter their password on a random site.
