Isn't it a bit silly that we are legally forced to wear clothes? Maybe it isn't if we look at it from the perspective of someone a part of our society for many years, but isn't it kind of weird that we have to wear clothing? I think it's strange we can't just go outside naked. Why does someone have the power to enforce us to wear clothes? Is it really that awkward? You don't have to not wear clothes, but shouldn't we be able to? Please respond.

I mean I'm not super into being naked in public like some people are but I can't lie last night I was just tryna walk outside naked in the moonlight but what stopped me wasn't like modesty or decency but the fact that it's against the law. Anyway I just wish I had the option. Knowaddimean?

Clothing (also known as clothes, apparel and attire) is a collective term for items worn on the body. Clothing is typically made of fabrics or textiles but over time has included garments made from animal skin or other thin sheets of materials put together. The wearing of clothing is mostly restricted to human beings and is a feature of all human societies. The amount and type of clothing worn depends on gender, body type, social, and geographic considerations.

Clothing serves many purposes: it can serve as protection from the elements, rough surfaces, rash-causing plants, insect bites, splinters, thorns and prickles by providing a barrier between the skin and the environment. Clothes can insulate against cold or hot conditions, and they can provide a hygienic barrier, keeping infectious and toxic materials away from the body. Clothing also provides protection from ultraviolet radiation.

Wearing clothes is also a social norm, and being deprived of clothing in front of others may be embarrassing. Not wearing clothes in public so that genitals, breasts (for women) or buttocks are visible could be considered indecent exposure.

A dress code is a set of rules, often written, with regards to clothing. Dress codes are created out of social perceptions and norms, and vary based on purpose, circumstances and occasions. Different societies and cultures are likely to have different dress codes, Western dress codes being a prominent example.

Dress codes are symbolic indications of different social ideas, including social class, cultural identity, attitude towards comfort, tradition and political or religious affiliations
