Got my drivers and boating license in 2016, and this past year 2018 I got my motorcycle endorsement, which adds the letter "M" to my license.

I am curious to know if anyone here besides me has a Class C or higher CDL.

Yes. Here in Australia we spend a few years learning how to drive.
When you turn 16 you get your learners and have to have an L plate on your car. A fully licensed person has to be in the passenger seat at all times and you have to log your hours in a book. There are also rules to how long you can drive at a time and at what hours of the day. I think it’s different in every state but usually when you get over 100 hours you send your log book in and get it checked. Then you go for your practical test. Once you pass that you move on to Provisional.
In my state you have to be on provisionals (and yes with a P plate on your car) for three years. For the first year, you are on your reds. You can drive on your own but there are limitations to what time you can drive. Plus, you can’t use Bluetooth. Once the year is up you take an online test that looks at your reaction time to road scenarios (easy). Then you move onto your greens. You can now use Bluetooth. I believe the time of day restriction is no longer. But I think there are still other limitations in terms of what car you can drive - I’ve never needed to read up on it. After two years, you are moved onto an open, full license (no test needed, it is automatic).

I’m currently on my greens until August :), and then I have a full license. I’m a super confident driver given I have to drive a lot and for long periods of time. Licensing is a bit complicated here. You’d think our roads would be safer, but that hasn’t been the case in my perspective.

Yep. We've got a pretty fast system in New Zealand. When you turn 16 you can do a theory test and get your Learner's. Much like Aussie, we have to have L plates and a fully licensed driver in the passenger seat, however there is no requirement to log your hours or anything. After that you can do a practical test and get your Restricted license, which doesn't require plates, but it means you can't have passengers or drive between 10pm and 6am. You are on this for a year and a half (or a year if you do a defensive driving course) after which you can do another practical and get your full license. We also have restrictions based on whether you did your test in a manual or auto (if you do it in an automatic you can only drive automatic cars. My family only had manual cars, so lucky me /s). I'm currently on my restricted.

interesting. in my state (some of these rules are different for the different states in the usa), you can get your learner's when you're 15 and 9 months. then you have to take a 2 week driving class and pass 11 written tests. then, you also have to have 6 hours of driving time with an instructor from your driving school. you are able to get your license after having your learners for 9 months, but in this time you need to complete and log 60 hours of driving time (10 of them have to be at night). after this, if you pass the test you get your provisionals license. for the first 5 months you can't drive anyone besides your immediate family and you can't drive from 12am-5am. you have the provisionals until you're 18 and you go to the dmv and get your actual license.

Where I live train systems are great. Way faster than having to sit in traffic and finding a parking space. Also u can sleep. I haven't felt the need to get a licence but I think I will very soon.

I'll try to get my learner's permit as soon as I turn 16.

or whatever it's called here, our system is similar to the one Picks described

I have my G1 which is basically a learners permit.

I’m able to drive in a car in broad daylight if accompanied by a fully liscenced (G) driver. Have only been out driving twice, though.
