So recently, a rap beef between Eminem and MGK went down, and I think it's still going down, if I'm correct. Who do you guys think won the whole beef? Opinions on it?
ooh goodie i've been waiting for one of these threads Listen, Eminem took a crash landing with Revival. IMO, Kamikaze was him over-exaggerating beef (in most of the cases, old beef) to gain back attention. I did enjoy the album, but I'm honestly surprised that no one else sees this. Really, look at the pattern, Em makes a bad album, he comes back with a good album that resparks a lot of controversy he's had with other rappers, lots of attention. Also, can I just say that MGK is actually winning more than Em is in this fight? The album is good, but Em is slowly digging his own grave.
yeah MGK literally gave up on it cause he had no response to it, his diss track was trash, the whole time he was making roasts that a 10 year old would find hurtful which is why i understand that @Valleyside thinks it’s better than ems, if you read mgks lyrics theyre literally him saying em is the best and no one is better so it’s a clear win for em and also theres no way of telling what someones intentions are, i believe that em tried to appeal to more people with his revivial album then kamikaze was like the im sorry i know what i did was stupid and i deserve the L
Won't you ever shut up? Listen, bro, a diss is a diss. MGK does respect Eminem, that's clear as day, however he will stick up for his name, and that's why he made the diss. He feels as though Em's diss was better, so he's not gonna respond. Or there's also the possibility that he realized that his whole thing is immature and decided to just drop the subject. Nonetheless, I agree with the statement that Em won this beef, however it's a lose-lose because after this situation dies down, Em's gonna be in his little corner of forgotten rappers, while the relevant folks (J.I.D, Kendrick, K.A.A.N) will take his place. Em will have a legacy in the rap game, which won't be forgotten for a while, however I think this is the end of his relevancy in the current era of hip-hop.
My opinion, it's free publicity all around. If I had to take sides, I'd pick Eminem every time. If it wasn't for him kids MGK wouldn't be getting a chance. What white rappers were there before Eminem? Beastie Boys? That's pretty much it.
MGK thought it was immature and dropped it? he’s the one who started it and he’s the one who wrote the lyrics of his diss track on eminem... do you really think he’s mature? i aint even heard of jid and kaan, are those the kids who rap with jake paul? and kendrick hasn’t done anything since humble, em should already have been out of the rap game but he’s forever a legend and he won’t be forgotten
Eminem ruined MGK. Killshot was much better lyrically, with disses that went above a ton of people's head and even went beyond MGK dissing Em's beard.
Ok MGK has some publicity for like a week and now that he dropped his EP, his career is dead again. His EP flopped and got a 2.5 rating.
Pointless note: check out J.I.D and K.A.A.N, you might like them. They have a similar lyrical style to Eminem, so I think you'd enjoy them somewhat. I could, for once, agree that MGK did start the beef. However, I see it as an honest mistake and Eminem taking things too seriously. Might I add that this was YEARS ago. He even fucking stated IN THE SAME TWEET that he didn't mean to disrespect Eminem. Here's the tweet here to refresh your memory: Though I could agree that he massively failed... meh. He didn't even need to bring it back up, but he did, because the entire Kamikaze album is him either bashing on rappers for their styles or bringing up old, irrelevant beef. MGK only wrote the diss track as a response to Eminem, because he didn't like how he was being treated by him. Em replied back, and won. (Here comes the rude bit) Shut up about Kendrick. You're such an idiot that you can't decipher the fact that Kendrick is made heavy waves with the Black Panther. He released the whole damn soundtrack to Black Panther, which a lot of the time got over 80% rating (Rotten Tomatoes giving it a 97%, Metacritic giving it an 88%), featuring songs like All The Stars (around 400,000,000 listens on Spotify) and Pray For Me (about 275,000,000) Yes, I will accept the fact that HUMBLE. is definitely his best charting song, racking it at almost 1,000,000,000 listens on Spotify, so I could see where you're getting your information from. Let's not forget that you're sleeping on the entire DAMN. album, as well. Also, take a look at this: (Bruno Mars won the Grammy for Album Of The Year, which I think we can all agree was very undeserved.) this: and this: So, 'HUMBLE.' will not be all that Kenny is known for. Jesus, I just ranted about Kendrick Lamar for most of this post. Look, my point is: I'm not saying Em should quit rapping entirely, I'm saying that he's finally dying down. Once again, his legacy will never be forgotten as long as hip-hop survives, but the hype around him now has almost been expired.
here’s a lil clip for you, and tbh you shoulda watched the whole interview but here watch this and tell me what you think also jid kaan and kendrick have no relevancy to the conversation so i ain’t even gonna talk on them
Nothing really hit me here, nothing really relevant to my mindset. Literally just proved my point. I had a little more insight on the diss reason, however he still could've chose to ignore it. Or just lift the ban, because this is years-old beef and MGK likely regrets it.
