I believe in god. I was also raised in a church family, so I grew up believing. I still believe though.

I have a very hard time believing in that stuff. I believe of a higher being like aliens but not necessarily a God. Part of me wants to believe because what if there is one and he's like "you didnt believe in me so you'll go to hell" when I die so

I was raised to believe in God, but without any proof I can't. Would he let his people die such gruesome deaths all the time, even though they may have done nothing wrong? If he lets people die because they are paying for other people's sins, I don't know why we respect him :/

Buddhism? do you know what is practiced in that religion? in those countries people will leave other people dying on the streets because they believe it effects their karma, so it’s an endless loop of an excuse for selfishness in karma

there are good things and bad things in all religion! in anything really!. a lot of people say and think that the bible says that god doesn't support gay people! and if you believe in religion, you likely believe in some type of afterlife so... dying isn't really forever is it?

i wad trying to start a conversation about buddhism and hinduism and how those religions are practiced and how it effects the country and the poverty there but i guess attacking a different religion as a response is fine too

I do not believe in God because of a lack of evidence.
The universe was created by the big bang.

If you use the logic about how it's not possible for us to be around without God due to how Earth has the perfect conditions to sustain life, one word; Chance. It's not impossible, it's improbable.
There are billions of suns, each with their own solar system in our galaxy and trillions of other universes. The chances of there being no planet able to sustain life are unbelievably low, if there at all.

I don't believe in God, but I think of religion as a more personal belief or understanding of the world, and I'm not the type to debate about these things.

For a while I was an agnostic, but I felt myself swaying towards the atheist side more and more.

Personally (this is just my philosophy), I feel like human consciousness is so subjective that it could wildly vary from person to person, and we'd have no way to know. Then my thinking extended to the idea that a good would be unlikely to share a human-like consciousness with our species. Also, I feel like the concept of a God is human-centric, but of course it is, because we haven't found consciousness in other beings.
But also I have the feeling that none of this is distinctly "true", it's just what I believe. So maybe I retained some agnostic beliefs.
Sorry, I got really into this lol

You do realize that the tenets of Hinduism focus around helping others, right? It’s literally one of the main lessons taught in the Mahabharata, the Bhagavad Gita, and the Ramayana.

I’m gonna be honest, I have done little research and I only said that so I could come up with something other than no. I probably will in the future

Look up King Ashoka. He is an Indian king who spread the influence of Buddhism widely across India, and is an important figure in our history.
