If the games I played got removed I wouldn't suddenly develop a passion to play factions I'd just leave with everyone else who plays them. Similarly if factions got removed I'm willing to bet you wouldn't stick around very long either.
Because it's at the top of every server list and is already such a giant server. Even people who have never played minecraft know about hypixel lol
Yeah, but if the game as a whole is dying, it shouldn’t matter how much influence you have over that medium. So either Hypixel is actually dying, just at a much slower pace, or somehow managed to make it interesting for people who got tired of Minecraft already
yes hypixel peaks at 24k players now while it used to get over 40k. mineplex got 20k during its prime
The point is, Minecraft in general is dying. You can't just say, "Jerry and Harry is dying, they're doing a terrible job, blah blah blah." It's not just Jerry and Harry's server that is going down in popularity. It's everyone. It's kinda dumb to just point fingers and Jerry and Harry and say they have done a terrible job running the server. There is very little they can do about keeping it popular.
I saw it shoot up to close to 35k plus this weekend, so it really fluctuates. Personally, I don't think Hypixel would ever die. Another note: As everyone has probably already said anyways, minecraft is dying. Since it's prime in 2013-2014, we have seen a steady decline of many players leaving the game for either new games, life interests, or many other reasons. It's not something that can be stopped really. Maybe you can delay it a bit, but in the end we all know what's going to happen. It's sad to say it, but it's true.
I generally don't like replying to these things but I wanted to point out something: Many servers IJAH (and slightly bigger) sized had large dev teams and build teams. These teams costed money. This is called overhead. Many servers had overhead but it was manageable because they got a ton of revenue from the store. The problem is that when the revenue slowed down they could not sustain the model they had, and lost their devs and builders. This resulted in many servers, once thought to be invincible, down. This server on the other hand, (to my knowledge) has always kept a very low overhead. This has allowed them to stay in business over a year past what most servers this were at their peak. So while the server is dying, I think there is something to be said for appreciating how long it has lasted too.
Agreed. Everyone (including the owners) is being so negative lately. I know things seem really bleak but I think we should remember to appreciate what the server was and still is. <3
Once it's dead, it's dead. We all know how much impact it had way long ago when we had so many players, at least the server/owners did a great job but not all good times need to stay.
