BIG announcement for the server - J&H Parkour now on Speedrun.com!

Hey everyone!

I am here to announce to you that J&H parkour is now considered a speedgame on speedrun.com!

If you're wondering, speedrun.com is the speedrunning community's most widely accepted speedrunning site for leaderboards. It has over 395000 submitted runs and almost 100000 registered users.

Why is this so important?

The speedrun website's users are known for looking at other people's runs. So, the more speedruns there will be on the board, the more people may want to come on our server to actually try out the speedrun for themselves. If we get people to see the runs, a new sort of community will come on the server and it will overall be very good for the server, and perhaps very good for the parkour community, who we know isn't always the best in the server.

How will people will find the runs, though?

There are many ways.


When new runs are submitted and accepted, they end up on the front page of the site. Here's, for instance, my run on the front page.

Another way people may find the game, which will however be pretty hard to achieve, is if there are a ton of players.


You can see on the pictures that games are actually in order of how many submitted runs there are. So, if we got many people of the community involved in this, perhaps it could get on the front page for the "modifications" section, and perhaps in one of the few first pages if a lot of people do get involved!

So, what do I want from you guys?

We need people to speedrun this.

If we get many people to do a completed run, even if it's absolutely horrible, it will make the game more popular on the site and perhaps make people want to come on the server. However, we need you, you reading this, to try to get involved in this. Get a free recording software, or just point a camera at your screen, create a speedrun.com account and go play some parkour. If we can get a lot of people on the leaderboards, it will be the best thing that could happen for the server.

I also need moderators.

If someone is very involved in this project, is already mod on this server, or has very high rankings on the leaderboards, I may add them to the game's moderating team. However, I will prioritize mods of this server and people who have good rankings. Contact me if you're interested.

So, go play some parkour, call your parkour pros (@Darkstorm77 @IWantIpods pls), and submit them on the site! It won't hurt the server at all ;)

Thanks for tagging me, I'm very interested in this! Hopefully this can attract more players and add a successful/long-lasting competitive aspect to the server other than a server implemented feature. I am also interested in moderating this if it is not too time-consuming. Good luck to all!

 

I will add you to the moderation list right away when you will create your account! And yeah, I did that speedrun a month ago. I just needed the game to be added to the site hahaha
