I'm sorry for the inconvenience, we know it must have taken a lot of effort mining all of those blocks. Block after block after block and you still could not find a single ore. I would like to set up an event, for you have gone through a lot. On June 25th at 7:00 AM Central American Time, we will be hosting a HulloDewe's Pickaxe Funeral, to remember all that the poor pickaxe went through. This will be hosted at the Kansas Expo Centre, and hope for all of you to attend.

dude heres a few tips:

For diamonds, lapis, and redstone dig on levels 12, 14, and 16. Best chance of finding those specific items on those levels.

Dig a 2x2 tunnel instead of just a straight 1x1 tunnel (as shown here). This will increase your chances of finding items.

 

I personally prefer the method of digging a 1 block wide tunnel every 3 blocks over. It leaves only two blocks in between which are left visible.

Digging at a level where you can see bedrock is not going to result in many ores.
If you look at the image below, you will see that digging at Y-5 is not optimal.

 

Speaking of the longest tunnel ever, I was literally just looking up that record and then came on here, lol.
