Creative Spawn

Hello! I thought Creative needed a new spawn, so I decided to build a simple creative spawn, I took some stuff from the original spawn, but, I didn't take everything. BTW this is on IJAH C1, because, I didn't have a good server to build this one :p Also, I forgot to find the middle, and by the time I remembered, I was already pratically finished, so if this gets accepted, I will make sure it is more in the middle. Anyways, I hope you enjoy!

Description: This is a mix of the original Creative spawn, and my own ideas. I have a music note at the bottom of the map to represent that IJAH has a youtube channel, and I have the original idea of the anvil with the slabs on top around the structure, and the leaves on the bottom, and I made it white so it would go with the plots around it, and it isn't too big, or really anything to explore, so you won't spend your time exploring, and you can notice the other plots easier. It is simple, so it doesn't draw much attention, then again, drawing your attention to the amazing plots around spawn. So, in a way, it is a really good spawn.\

This is highly underdetailed compared to our current creative spawn, and it's also really alike to it. The leaf patterns and the use of anvils and slabs make it just too alike. Try to come up with a unique concept, and improve the overall design.
(EDIT) Also our current creative spawn fits in the span of a 2x2 area, including the road inbetween. How do you think we would move everything to implement this if this was accepted?

 

As stated above, this map is lacking a lot of detail, and simply looks too plain. Now, of course this is just my opinion, and I do wish you luck regardless, but I'd highly suggest adding more detail, such as scenery (tiny mountains, trees, lakes, anything, really) to make it stand out. As well as adding a place for the lobby's portal.

And, while I do like the "two floor" idea you and your friend made, it simply just lacks detail.

I'd highly recommend building tools like WorldEdit to help you out. Of course, you can always use other tools besides WorldEdit, as there are millions of map-making tools for custom builds such as this one, but building tools are something that really helps a lot with maps from personal experience.

As basically everyone else has stated, the spawn is just very dull. I am not trying to be rude or anything, just giving my opinion.

Like @BashfulBaker has said, it needs a lot more.
This might just be my opinion, but I'd suggest building on a Single Player world so you can build the spawn a lot bigger and you can use world edit, and all the other mods that are out there for building uses.

I wish you luck, but I would try making this a lot more detailed and better. As well as try to make it your own ideas. Not trying to use the leaf layout and using all of the anvils the current spawn has. It makes it look like the older one, when if we are trying to get a newer spawn, it needs to be different.

To start, the spawn is way to small. For this to be accepted, it would need to be the size of four plots. Now, I will be criticizing this build a lot, for it is instructive;

1. Highly under-detailed.
This build consists of mainly quartz (based on the image you've shown) which is very boring and plain. You did not put any detail in this build at all, structure wise. This is mainly a square with a roof over it. This really isn't something you want for a spawn, because not only is a spawn the first thing you see when you join the server, but it represents the server. Something as boring and pale as this just doesn't match the level of detail all the other spawns on the server consist.

2. Nothing to it.
In your build, it is very small, and no real room to move around in/at. Sure you can fly off, but lot's of people on the server like to stay at spawn to chat, run around, or go "afk" at. You really provide no area for this to be done. You also don't present a rule board or portal area at this spawn. This is an issue because it is mandatory for the server to use it. If there is no rule board, there is no area to present the rules for the server, which will cause mayhem because players will bypass this. For the portal, not all players know how to use commands to go places, so the portal is needed. You should really add these in.

3. Really random.
Your spawn has random blocks placed throughout it. This is shown with the snow under it, the glass on the spawn layer, and the leaves outside the spawn layer. For the snow under the spawn, it provides no real purpose and has no meaning to be in this map. All it really does is show off more white, which your spawn does a fairly well job of doing already. For the glass, why is it even there? It is so randomly placed and has no design to it. I would assume it is to see the snow under the spawn, but it all in all is just really random, and shouldn't be in this spawn (unless you change the shape of it and add a design to it). The leaves on the current spawn go in a symmetrical design the whole ways around the spawn. Yours however, is randomly placed just so you can say it is there. It should be removed if it is not going to be in a design.

What I have said in this post is what you should do to improve your chances of being accepted. I really recommend taking myself and the other players commenting on this threads advise, or your chances of being accepted will remain very minimal. Best of luck,

This looks as if it was made on Creative. It cannot be implemented, then. The spawn is small, the spawn is random, the spawn is like our current spawn, the spawn is just under-detailed. I do wish you luck, but it would be rare.

 

You know, I just want to say..I feel really bad for you cause of the disagreements/hate/whatnot you've received on this. You worked hard by the looks of it, and that's what really matters...not someones' opinions stating how badly designed/textured it is...you did good.

 

I do feel bad, as this was an old friend of mine. But constructive criticism should be made.

It's way smaller than the creative spawn right now and its not detailed as much. It kinda looks like the spawn that we have now but with less blocks.

 

agreed. if it's going to be constructive criticism, it needs to be actually constructive believe it or not and not harsh.

 

Although I do agree, constructive criticism is supposed to be harsh.

 

I'm just saying my opinion, but I feel this isn't a serious thread just a joke one, as it's missing a lot

I just want to say, I think you did a good job. Yes it is dull and bland, but your heart was in the right place and you (and your friend) did a good job. Yes it could use improvement, but what matters is you tried. I think your ideas (music note, duel-layers, etc.) were quite genius, and I applaud you on them :)

 

This is my own quote and looking back at this I now realize that it was probably a little harsh. It doesn't matter what I have to say or what others have to say, but what matters more than that is that you tried.
