So ,, I want a gaming desktop. But my parents won't buy it to me as it's too expensive, we could do many other things with that, that it's not for school purposes and they won't buy me a new computer if it's for gaming purposes and not for school,, that my computer is really good and it runs pretty well, and blah blah blah. The question is, how could I convince my parents/family to buy me a computer? I honestly don't know anymore....
Save up for it yourself (What I'm doing) Ask them for pocket money every week, in return you keep your room tidy, put the knives & forks and drinks out at dinner stuff like that Sell old toys/games that you no longer use. Or clothes that don't fit. Anyway, are you able to link me to your build? I'm interested in reading it.
There was another thread about this before, about someone wanting their parents to buy them a rank. Well here's the thing. If I was a parent I wouldn't just buy things for my kids just because they ask nicely. I would want them to do more and help around the house and earn it themselves. Once they have enough money, they can pay me and then I'll buy it. So basically you have to earn your way there instead of just getting your parents to buy you everything. Get good grades, do chores that aren't part of your regular ones, ask your parents about the chores. I'm sure they'll be happy to give you some they'll pay you for. This is how I saved up to buy a Wii U, because my parent's made me do chores and earn enough money to finally buy one. The harder you work for it, the more worth it your reward gets.
You could do the following if you want, they worked for me: Get a job and sell old stuff. You may be able to work for a family business on holidays Wait for Christmas and meanwhile you wait remind them at least once a month that you really want it.
The thing is, I already have high grades. Yea, that's kinda my only way. For the job, it's not easy, considering I'm only 11, there are not so many jobs and I don't have so much things to sell
Negotiate with your parents. Be honest and tell them what you want. First, research and get background information on what you want. This would allow your parents to see your how much this means to you. Second, let them know how much this would make you happy. All parents would love to see a smile on their child's face because they love us. I'd suggest you to get a custom desktop rather than a generic one. As it is cheaper and you can choose your own parts based on specific needs.
