Buying Unbans, Changes to Ban System

We are making some major changes to parts of our banning system to make it harder for rule breakers to circumvent the rules, and to reduce workload on our staff members.

    Changes:
All hacking bans are now permanent
We are doing away with the 1st, 2nd, 3rd hacking ban system. Starting from today, all hacking bans are of permanent duration regardless of whether it is your first or third ban. We will no longer be showing leniency towards hackers.

    All bans are now IP-bans
Getting a ban on your account will result in all logins from your IP address to also get banned for the same duration. We will no longer accept "my sibling hacked" excuses. If you get banned because someone in your family broke the rules, it will be up to yourself to deal with it.

    Buying unbans
We will no longer unban / give reduced sentences to players for merely admitting they were guilty. To get unbanned, one must buy an unban from our store.

Being able to buy an unban does not make you exempt from the rules. Continuing to break the rules after your unban will simply result in your account getting re-banned. Repeat/severe offenders will be blacklisted.

It is in the best interest for the person buying an unban to start following the rules, or risk quickly wasting $20.

For those who can not afford to buy an unban, we will offer 1 unban after 90 days have passed by making an appeal, under the condition that the player has no previous bans on their record.

I think it’s a good idea tbh, but I’m also curious as to what sparked these new rules and systems to be in place?

    WHAT STAFF MEMBERS
    WHAT WORKLOAD

I don't agree with the IP ban thing. It sucks if you live with someone stupid and you can't change it. You shouldn't be held responsible for other people's actions.

Whaaaaaaaaaaat... so what if I was falsely banned ?? If I appeal it and no one accepts. I've been banned before. I just simply can't come back on the server?? Are you guys trying to push players away or bring them back??

And I don't understand, is this only for permanent bans? If you're temp banned, can you buy an unban?

Why? An admission of guilt wasn't your only cause to urban people, it was more than that when I was staff. Perhaps take records into more consideration instead, purchasing an unban is just as easy as the admission of guilt in my opinion.

Reduce the never ending stream of hackers, bypassers, ban appeals for our ever-shrinking staff team.
    Then you make an appeal
Then you would have stayed banned regardless of the old or the new system.
We're pushing away hackers and allowing past rule-breakers who are willing to improve themselves to play on the server to come back.
You can buy an unban for either.

The #1 excuse hackers use is "oh it was my friend". It's hella annoying. If someone in your house hacks you should be held responsible
If you are falsely banned you can appeal
These changes are targeted at hackers. We're way too easy on them right now, they just make a ban appeal and either lie or admit, then we unban. Enough with letting hackers keep coming back and breaking the rules. It's simple, you get caught hacking, you're perm banned. If you REALLY want to come back, you have to pay (which also ensures they won't hack again)

They could have been kept on a short leash to begin with, not saying your guys' changes are flawed, but it doesn't exactly make things better.

On a side note; what about players permanently banned? You know, the ones that have been exiled from the community like Saad? Are they able to purchase an unban, even though they're long gone and probably wouldn't anyways, or are they blacklisted from that option?

These strings of questions also applies to the hackers that have been banned countlessly prior to this release as well, people who have been perm banned more than twice.

Is buying unbans available in my case? I made an agreement where my next mute would lead to a perm ban. Would I still be able to buy an unban or an unmute?

Saadihsan has been bypassing for months.

His longest bypass he was able to play for 3 months without breaking any rules before we were able to find out it was him and ban him.

We have banned dozens of his alt accounts, but he's probably still playing on this server as we speak.

Instead of continuing this cat and mouse game, we're giving them a legitimate option to come back given they accept our terms/conditions. He's currently blacklisted from buying an unban but we told him he can make an appeal and we'll discuss his terms.

In other words, Saadihsan has never been gone in the first place, so your point is invalid.

We literally ban multiple alts of him every week so he is clearly still playing on the server just not on 1 account. He's probably lurking this forums right now until he decides to make a troll post again (which he does like 3 times a week).

Clearly it's not possible to completely exile someone, at most we can deter him from playing by ruining his experience.

So, to answer your question. Yes, he may also buy an unban.

he can literally call his isp and change his ip lol ip-banning won't help with people like saad

i think its sad that you guys would make him pay for an unban like unban him if it doesnt matter anymore?

    but thats not my business

I actually would ask if some1 should change Ip and then join what should it be then? + The unbans is really expensive It would be better if it would be like 10-15 usd and unmute like 5 usd that like the orginal/good price actually.

My point wasn't about him specifically, it was about the people exiled, he's just the only one I could think of. I'm aware of his ruse with the staff team because I've witnessed it back when I was a staff member.
like stated above, it was just a general nudge at the people who have been permanently banned and were never given an opportunity to return without accepting terms.

ok so what youre saying is if a hacker has enough money he should be able to freely play on the server as if nothing happened?

my point is not that we should unban him my point is that if you were to not care if he played on the server or not, i personally think it would be a better decision to simply unban him instead of paying 25$. that's my opinion though and I won't rebel lol. i just don't think it makes a lot of sense.

also, does this kind of unban apply to people like flare_pikachu, valentino or ani who were banned cause of their toxic behaviour?

Are you seriously asking this? This is such a ridiculous question

Making people pay to get an unban will give them an actual incentive not to hack again, or they will end up wasting their money.
We're not going to unban someone just because we can't keep them away, then there is nothing deterring them from doing it again.

We have always given hackers reduced sentences / unbans simply for admitting they were guilty. Often times they would just come back and do it again a week later.

Now that they are forced to pay, it is in their own wallet's best interest to follow the rules. Noone in their right mind would spend $25 just to get banned again. For those who can't or don't want to pay, we allow them 1 second chance after 90 days given that it was their first offense.
